First and foremost, thanks for taking the time to check us out. We are Jeff and Liz Standridge,a husband and wife team working together toward a common goal. This all started around 1982, long before the Internet boom. I started out shooting mostly "street photography". Fast film, fast shutter speeds, and lots of harsh lights. It was all about capturing that moment in time, that split second, to freeze it and hold it on film. I shot almost everything in black and white and did most the processing myself. From that beginning, I evolved or migrated, depending on how you look at it, to figure work. I went from harsh lights to almost no lights at all. I concentrated on shadows, form, angle, and the artistic wonder of the human form. After several years, as is common with being young, I got interested and busy with other things and unfortunately let my photography fall to the side. I still had ideas and pictures in my mind's eye of things I wanted to do, I just never took the time to do them.

 

Many years and a lot of life experience later, I find myself middle-aged, with a driving passion for my photography. All those ideas and images I've had with me all these years are erupting to the surface with volcanic force. One might say I'm a bit obsessed with photography work. I've spent the last 4 years re-educating myself and re-learning all the tips, tricks, and techniques I had long forgotten. I built another darkroom and re-educated myself on the processing side. Once I was comfortable with all my techniques, I discovered the digital SLR. Well, this changed everything. I started shooting everything digital and absolutely fell in love with it. The immediate feedback is just amazing. As you might guess, I sold all my darkroom equipment and all but one of my film cameras, and put it all into digital equipment and studio equipment. For me, it was the way to go.

 

So, here we are today, my wife and I teamed together as the heartbeat of JLS Images. My wife Liz helps out with all the "boring" stuff...taxes, bookkeeping & bills. She also helps me out with lights, props, and sets. We make an awesome team, and together, we strive to achieve the best possible images from every shoot we do. Take a few minutes to browse the site and look at some of the things we have done so far. If you think there is something we can do for you, just ask. We are open to most assignments and are willing to work with the first time models to the seasoned professionals.
